Our avocados are grown in Calabria, where they follow the principles and methods of organic agriculture, by respecting the environment, the laws of nature and biodiversity too. In this area of Calabria – in Locri, just a few hundred meters from the Ionian coastal seaside - a proper “avocado grove” has been created in an environment that looks like a small natural world entirely dedicated to this splendid fruit. Indeed, thanks to the unique local microclimate of the area, the fruits have excellent organoleptic qualities.

The unprocessed Italian Organic Avocados that you can buy online at Orteat, have followed organic farming practices, where the use of synthetic chemicals is not allowed.

The harvest of Hass Avocados cultivated in the Mediterranean Basin takes place between December and April, while for Bacon Avocados the harvest starts almost a month earlier.

How to store the Hass Italian Organic Avocados

Our Organic Avocados are produced and harvested without using any synthetic chemical. The entire production cycle follows the principles of seasonality and the laws of nature, without ever slowing down or anticipating the fruit’s ripening.

As you might know, our avocados are harvested only when completely ready to eat, even if the actual ripening process happens only after they are harvested..

That’s why, you will be delivered to your doorstep, with a small guide on how to let them ripen. 

Here is some other advice: keep them in a fresh place, avocados will ripen very slowly while they will be ready after a few days if stored in a paper bag.  

It is also possible to buy our avocados together with some seasonal citrus fruit (oranges, lemons, mandarins, bergamots).
