Ciao!
From Italy with Love…and a lot of organic fruit! 🥑 🇮🇹
Orteat starts shipping organic products from its Italian farmers to some European countries.
Sorry if you find some Italian words or some mistakes, we are working on improving our International website.
In the meantime, we don't want you to lose the chance to try out our farmers' products!
A family tradition that began in the '50s and continues today, between the ancient techniques of cultivating Bergamots and modern innovations.
Giuseppe's farm has always adopted a manual harvesting method: n this way, all the organoleptic characteristics of the fruit are fully preserved.
Learning more about how the Bergamot is produced is very interesting: it is in fact a very special citrus fruit that with time became the symbol of Calabria, the region that hold the world production record.
Some years ago Giuseppe's farm was converted into an organic one and in 2015 his Bergamot production was organically certified.
Giuseppe tells us how much passion he puts into his work every day and how happy he is to continue the family tradition.
When we ask him why he chose be a farmer he tells us this: "for me there is no better job than this, there is nothing else I would do, every day I am happy and I always find a new reason to love what I do".
Since 2015, the farm has been organically certified but despite this, it has been always paid great attention to preserve nature and not to alter its cycles and seasonal patterns. No chemical pesticides have ever been used. The company is located in Condofuri, in the southern italian region of Calabria, surrounded by a rich vegetation and an ideal climate for the cultivation of Bergamot.
