He follows traditions but he renews them every day, by always remaining faithful to authenticity.
Domenico was studying and working in Rome, when he decided to return to his homeland, Calabria, to actively join the family business, which for years had been producing olive oil and citrus fruits, such as the Oranges that you can find on Orteat.
When we asked Domenico why he chose to return to Calabria, he answered us as follows: I took this decision for many reasons, first of all the love for Calabria gave rise to the desire of changing things in practice, not only theoretically. I would like my region to come out of the shadow that often unjustly covers it, and to finally let others see how incredible and wonderful this place is.
We also want to join and support Domenico's "fight", being certain that sometimes some light is enough to make a territory flourish again.
Our lands
The lands of the 'Azienda Agricola Migliaccio Spina' are located in Calabria and they extend throughout the Locride, an area in the Ionian Coast of Calabria. The production alternates between olive oil and organic citrus fruit such as the Oranges that you can find on Orteat. Domenico and his family have been taking care of an entirely organic production chain for generations. The family has owned this land for centuries, and in fact each tree has the name of the family members. A chain of generations and trees with roots firmly planted in the earth. An indissoluble interweaving of tradition and respect for nature.
